A load needs a Texas permit once it exceeds the legal limits: over 8 feet 6 inches wide, over 14 feet high, over 65 feet long, or over 80,000 pounds gross. Anything past those numbers moves on a TxDMV oversize/overweight permit filed through the TxPROS portal, not on a standard registration.
Standard single-trip permits inside the self-issue envelope can issue the same business day. Superheavy loads above 254,300 pounds are a different category (Superheavy/route-inspection) and require a manual quote. We flag those at intake rather than promising a turnaround we can't hit.

Texas oversize loads generally move in daylight, from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. Escort (pilot car) requirements depend on the width, height, length, and overhang of your specific load and print on the issued permit. We do not provide escorts, but we flag the requirement to you before you move.
Texas does not impose a general holiday travel ban on oversize loads; the only holiday movement restriction is for manufactured housing. Always follow the specific conditions printed on your issued permit for your route and date.
